How To Build Your Online Presence and Advance Your Career
Thursday, September 17, 2020 (Central Time) — 1:30PM - 2:15PM
LinkedIn. Instagram. Facebook. Twitter. These are just a few of the social networks that we use to communicate both personally and professionally. The more platforms we engage on, the broader and more diverse our online audiences become. Our social media circles now include employers, administrators, colleagues and clients; because of this, our online activity can have an impact on job screenings, admissions decisions, and other processes that can influence our professional and academic lives. Through this interactive workshop, I will provide actionable strategies, informed by over 25 years as an academic leader in graduate education, on how to craft a strong and consistent personal narrative that leverages your value proposition online. We will look at real-world examples of what to do (and what not to do) on social media to establish an online presence that demonstrates intentionality, promotes your best self and advances your career.
